About Us

Meet the trainer

My name is Rich, and I am passionate about helping dogs and their owners build strong, lasting relationships through effective training. With years of experience in professional dog training, I provide personalized, results-driven programs for dogs of all breeds, ages, and temperaments.

Growing up with dogs my entire life, I developed a deep respect and love for canine companions. I believe every dog has the potential to be well-behaved, confident, and happy with the right guidance. My training methods are based on positive reinforcement, clear communication, and a solid understanding of canine behavior. Whether your dog needs basic obedience, behavior modification, or advanced skills, I tailor my approach to meet your dog’s individual needs.

In addition to running Mona’s Miracle, I volunteer at the Longmont Humane Society, helping dogs in need build the confidence and skills to find their forever homes.

As the proud grandson of a World War II pilot who was killed in action while serving as a B-17 pilot, I honor his legacy by offering military discounts to veterans, active service members, and even their family members. Just ask me about the discount during your free consultation.

My mission is to create a positive, stress-free training experience for both you and your dog, so you can continue reinforcing good behavior long after our sessions are over. Let’s work together to unlock your dog’s full potential—because a well-trained dog is a happy dog!

Me and Mona

Mona’s story is one of resilience, love, and transformation—one that changed my life forever and inspired me to help others.
I found Mona on Petfinder.com and drove to Compton, California to bring her home. She had been abandoned, neglected, and mistreated, often going days without food. Despite her rough past, I saw the love in her eyes and knew she was meant to be part of my life.
At the time, I was struggling with loneliness and depression during the COVID lockdowns while also caring for my mother, who had Parkinson’s and dementia. My parents were initially upset about me bringing home a Pitbull, but within days, Mona won their hearts. She didn’t just become part of the family—she helped comfort my mother in ways I never expected.
Unfortunately, Mona’s past trauma led to a bite incident, making it clear that she needed proper training. Through obedience classes, I saw an incredible change in her behavior and our bond. That experience ignited a passion in me—I wanted to help other dog owners build trust, understanding, and a meaningful relationship with their dogs.
Mona’s miracle wasn’t just about being rescued—it was about rescuing us in return. She brought love, healing, and strength to our family, especially after my mother’s passing. Now, I want to help you create that same special connection with your dog, transforming both of your lives for the better.
Let Mona’s Miracle be the start of your journey. Because every dog deserves love, and every family deserves the joy a well-trained dog can bring.

Mission Statement

“At Mona’s Miracle, our mission is to help dogs and their owners develop and maximize the full potential of their relationship through compassionate, science-based training. Using the L.I.M.A. (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) approach, I create personalized training plans that foster trust, communication, and long-lasting results. I believe that every dog is capable of learning, and every owner deserves the tools to guide their canine companion toward success. With flexible scheduling, competitive rates, and a commitment to positive reinforcement, I make training a rewarding experience for both ends of the leash.”
